Venice

Harold Hollingsworth’s painting draws on the visual language of the city, from weathered signs to graphics found on walls and flyers. He layers letterforms and numbers with broad painted shapes, building relationships between color, scale, and line. Red, orange, black, and white give this work its graphic intensity, while partially obscured marks reveal the complexity of the painted surface.
