A large oil painting in which architectural form and landscape are held in a shifting, constructed space. Shlichta builds the image through successive decisions in color and shape, allowing recognizable elements to emerge and recede within the larger composition. The result moves between observation and memory, with the weight and stillness of an older pictorial tradition filtered through a distinctly contemporary structure.
