Nopal Frío

Nopal Frío transforms the prickly pear cactus into a luminous sculptural form in glass. Part of Manolo Aguilera’s Nopales series, the work draws on his training in Venetian glass techniques and his Mexican heritage, bringing the nopal into a contemporary language of cultural memory, color, and place.

Cool green pads rise from a sculpted blue base, punctuated by a vivid magenta blossom—a palette that gives the familiar desert form an almost atmospheric presence.
