Triton Totem assembles found wood and metal, beach glass, oil paint, beeswax, and gold leaf into a vertical sculptural form that feels both weathered and ceremonial. Layered fragments of timber are interrupted by turquoise, green, and metallic passages, with beach glass catching light like small deposits of sea and sky.
The title introduces a maritime charge without becoming literal: the work feels part relic, part signal, part improvised monument. Maxi’s material language is especially strong here—discarded and elemental materials are rebuilt into something finely balanced, richly surfaced, and quietly talismanic.
