From Bowles's Lines of Inquiry series of stoppered bottles, White Filigree explores the optical and structural possibilities of fine glass cane within a blown form.

Delicate white filigree traces an intricate network of intersecting lines against a deep blue interior. Encased within clear glass, the threads create shifting relationships between line, volume, and transparency, their apparent movement intensified by the curvature of the vessel.

The elongated, precisely proportioned stopper introduces a restrained architectural element to the composition, contrasting with the density and fluidity of the internal pattern. The work reflects Bowles's command of traditional glassmaking techniques and his ongoing investigation into material complexity, optical perception, and sculptural form.
