Colony gathers individually formed hot-glass vessels into a dense, architectural cluster, their softened volumes fused and rolled around a cylindrical core. Rust, curry, cream, and translucent amber move across the surface in a rhythm of compression, repetition, and color.

Kovel uses the vessel as a modular sculptural element, shifting it from functional form into something collective and almost cellular. The technically demanding hot assembly gives the work its sense of abundance and apparent spontaneity—an accumulation of distinct forms resolved as a single sculpture.
