Hitched

Hitched brings four hot-sculpted glass forms into a poised, interdependent composition, each volume appearing to lean, press, and balance against the next. Saturated greens and deep navy heighten the tension between weight and buoyancy, while a discreet metal substrate anchors the arrangement and allows the glass to hold an almost improbable equilibrium.

Kovel turns balance itself into part of the work—soft, inflated forms shaped and assembled hot, then held in precise relation through an underlying structure that is both technical and nearly invisible. The result is a study in form, color, tension, and material command.
