Adam Bentz’s Inertia Series 4 is a sculptural linear pendant chandelier in ash with a clear-oil finish. Its long, graceful line is achieved by bending the wood under precisely controlled pressure sustained over an extended period of time. The process gives the finished form an inherent sense of tension and movement, while the grain of the ash follows and emphasizes the curve. Illumination is integrated throughout the full length of the work, making light intrinsic to the sculpture.
For commissioned works, Bentz can consult on scale, placement, suspension, illumination, and electrical requirements, and collaborate with architects, designers, and qualified electrical professionals as part of a comprehensive lighting plan.
