George William Bell brings traditional Venetian cane work into a distinctly freeform vocabulary. Delicate lines of cane stretch, compress, and bend as the vessel is manipulated, tracing the movement of molten glass as it takes form. The resulting topography holds that movement in suspension, fossilizing motion in the finished vessel.
