Mikey Cozza

Biography

Mikey Cozza is a Pacific Northwest–based glass artist whose work is driven by process, precision, and a sustained exploration of the optical properties of glass. His practice focuses on nonfunctional vessels that capture, refract, and activate light through intricate linework, pattern, and form—drawing from the rhythms and structures found in nature.

Cozza was introduced to glass at Pilchuck Glass School in 2005, an experience that established the foundation for his career. He relocated to Seattle shortly after, immersing himself in the studio glass community through production work and assistantships. He has continued his training at Pilchuck, Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, and Pratt Fine Arts Center, working alongside leading artists including Benjamin Moore, Janusz Pozniak, Nancy Callan, Rik Allen, and Shelley Muzylowski Allen. He currently works with Dante Marioni and is a gaffer at The Glasshouse Studio.

At the core of Cozza’s practice is a direct engagement with molten glass—manipulating the material in its liquid state to achieve highly controlled, complex surfaces. His work balances technical rigor with a sense of movement and energy, translating the fluidity of glass into forms that feel both precise and alive.
